HOW TO PREP: DRY SKIN ✨💗
A few of you asked and so here it is! A step by step how to prep your skin before makeup if you’ve got DRY skin.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Step 1: cleanse and tone: stick with a gentle face wash and alcohol free toner! Good skin starts with you. As makeup artists we can do our best to achieve a flawless beautiful application but it takes weeks and months of care. This is something I tell my brides all the time 🤍
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Step 2: Our skin best absorbs products when damp, so apply an essence like the one used here so that whatever you apply after will penetrate and absorb onto the skin a lot better. Pro tip: start by applying the thinnest products first and build up to the thickest (essence, serum, moisturizer, then oils last)
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Step 3: apply your serum. Think of serums as targeted treatments. If you want to improvise elasticity, try an anti aging serum. If you’re concerned with uneven skin tone use vitamin c. Etc.

Step 4: apply a moisturizer. This will help lock in everything underneath while rehydrating and nourishing our skin. It helps improve our skin barrier repair thus slowing the signs of aging.

Step 5: IF YOURE EXTREMELY DRY- an added layer of moisture can do wonders. I love using @drjart ceramidin cream on areas of concern. A great alternative is @embryolisseusa and @weleda_usa

Step 6: eye cream. I like using @belifusa moisturizing eye bomb. It’s never too early to start an eye cream. Crows feet and fine lines, goodbyeeee

Under eye patches make a world of a difference and such a nice touch as part of a service💗 they help depuff and brighten as well! I love @beautybio and @skyniceland

Step 7: lip mask- prep your lips am and pm. I keep mine bedside and apply it religiously. Perfect before applying lipstick as it gently nourishes and avoids dry flaky lips ❌💋

As a professional makeup artist of 10 + years specializing in bridal glam, I am here to teach you 5 tips on how to get your makeup to last ALL DAY LONG✨🔥
Tip 1: Never skip the skin prep! This is the most important part in my opinion as our skins texture can show through more if it’s not prepped well.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Tip 2: apply setting mist before putting on your foundation. Quick confession- I hardly ever use a primer 🤫 the correct skin prep in addition to spraying the face is all you need to keep your makeup locked 🔒 through the night (spray right before you apply foundation and let dry for a few seconds)

Tip 3: layer your cream and powder blush. Powder is easily wiped off and can get lost in photos. By layering the two, your color will remain and photograph beautifully!

Tip 4: Use a lipliner as a base for your lipstick! Important to find a shade that compliments your lipstick. This will ensure that the color remains even after drinking/eating.

Tip 5: after completing the look and spraying your face with setting mist, take a powder puff or sponge and gently press onto the skin to melt everything together. Tapping/pressing motions are key!! Your makeup will look flawless and blended, never cakey 🔥

Here is a look at some of my favorite products I personally use on the daily. Depending on what my day looks like (whether I’m running errands or meeting with clients) the only thing that really changes is my foundation. Lol here’s what my every day routine consists of:

Some sort of base (light, medium, full coverage)
Mascara (I prefer lengthening + volumizing formulas)
Blush (usually cream or powder)
Bronzer (shimmer dewy finish or powder matte)
Lip balm or lip tint (always a hydrating, sheer formula)
Setting powder to touch up
Hand cream and perfume
Neutral, super light eyeshadow (if any)
